Happy New Year!

Wow! It’s hard to believe 2023 is right around the corner. It really is true that time flies and it feels like the years are getting shorter. My father recently told me, “If you think the years go faster the older you get, try being 92. The years go by like a blink of the eye.” But then he winked and said, “Truth be told, I still feel 14 on the inside.”

I absolutely love these wise words and I will remember them forever. I think it really is true that the years fly by on the outside, but also true that we can really feel and be any way we want as long as we believe in ourselves on the inside. It’s all about perception!

My dad doesn't waste time thinking about being a certain age. He can’t! He is too busy living a meaningful, valuable, happy, and healthy life. He golfs, travels, works out, volunteers, and is an expert in building anything. The other day he asked me to join a gym with him. He even said he would take the time to go slow to show me how to use the machines. What a prince!

As we roll into 2023, let's only make resolutions that involve being happy. Leave out the resolutions that involve what we should or shouldn’t do. And definitely skip ones that include what others think we should be. Let’s focus on what makes us happy on the inside and really go for it in 2023.

For me, I plan on carving out more fun time with my family. My grandkids are getting so big and I don't want to miss any of it. And I think I will join that gym so I can spend more time with that prince of a dad of mine.

Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
