The “Perfect” Pregnancy Announcement

Today, I thought it would be fun to share an old post from my blog from years ago. We shared the struggle of getting the “perfect” picture to announce our third pregnancy. It serves as a reminder that the internet often hides the truth of those perfected posts, and also kids are super hard to work with Enjoy!

“The internet is a beautiful place to try and make everyone think your life is perfect. Pinterest is a world of gorgeous, physically fit women with awesome ombre-balayage hair who are making up Martha-worthy DIY projects and carrying them out with grace and elegance. These women also have the cutest pets, the longest lashes, the best parenting advice, well-dressed children, and the best wardrobe. Well, I’m calling bullshit. I will admit, that it is fun to pretend I live a perfect, effortless, life – but it couldn’t be further from the truth. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good filter on my photos, but I’m going to try and keep the bullshit out.

Big shout out to Uncle Krisjan for photoshopping to stop the madness. The final cut was very cute!! I wish I would have pinned the pin from the blog I found this idea from. That chick had a great idea, I just borrowed it.

Below are some of the fabulous outtakes.”

The above photo is so cute, right? I saw the idea on Pinterest. I wanted to tell my in-laws that I was pregnant, and I wanted them to be all “AWW so cute.” Honestly, the hubs and I wanted a way to tell his parents without having to tell them to their faces. You see, maybe we aren’t in the best financial position at this very moment and maybe our living situation isn’t totally prime BUT all of that will change long before the baby will be here. Actually, we have really never been in a better position than we are now. I think my husband was washing windows when we conceived our daughter. ANYWAY…getting to that above photo took a lot of patience, laughter, and Photoshop.
