Is now the right time to have a baby? It can’t be, right? I mean, we are barely exiting from a pandemic. This past year has been nothing short of absolutely traumatic for all of us. We have dealt with fear, loss, role changes, and economic uncertainty. Who would think now is a time to delve into adding to your family?
But if you’re getting the itch to have a baby, know that you are not alone. The need to procreate is biological and profound. Women have been having babies in both the good times and the bad since the beginning of time. Women are strong and fiercely protective of our little ones. We make it work, no matter what.
So, instead of thinking of all the reasons why you shouldn’t have a baby, maybe consider a different tactic. Try asking yourself why should I have a baby? The standard considerations are really the same now as any other time. Do I want a baby? Can I take care of a baby financially and emotionally? Do I feel ready? If you can’t answer yes to these questions, then maybe a little time needs to pass for you to get ready but if you answer yes to these questions, then maybe now is just the right time to add a bundle of joy to your home.
