Happy Galentine’s Day!
Love is in the air, but who says it's only reserved for romantic relationships? The very first Galentine’s Day was celebrated way back in 2010 in season 2 of Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, coined the term for a day to celebrate the friendship you share with your best gal pals. This Galentine's Day, gather your besties for a celebration that's all about love, laughter, and the fabulous friendships that make life extraordinary. Forget the traditional dinner and roses – we've got some unique ideas to make your Galentine’s Day unforgettable!
DIY Spa Day
Treat your besties to a day of pampering without breaking the bank. Set up a DIY spa station with face masks, nail polish, and soothing music. Encourage everyone to bring their favorite beauty products, and indulge in a day of relaxation, laughter, and maybe a little gossip.
Paint and Sip Party
Unleash your inner artists by hosting a paint and sip party at home. Grab some canvases, paint, and your beverage of choice. You can even get paint by number kits for adults that are super fun no matter your level of artistry. Whether you're Picasso or just there for the giggles, this creative activity is a fantastic way to bond and create lasting memories.
Potluck Dinner
Ditch the crowded restaurants and opt for a potluck dinner where everyone contributes a dish. Not only does this take the pressure off one person to cook, but it also adds a diverse array of deliciousness to your Galentine's feast. You can make the evening totally random or stick to a theme like appetizers or food from a certain cuisine. Bonus points for creative, heart-shaped treats!
Movie Marathon
Transform your living room into a cozy movie theater for the ultimate chick flick marathon. Whether it's classic rom-coms, empowering female-led films, or a nostalgic trip down memory lane with your favorite childhood movies, this cinematic experience is perfect for a low-key celebration. Don’t forget to have plenty of snacks, drinks, and treats on hand!
Progressive Dinner
This is great for a smaller group and gives everyone the opportunity to make a choice when you go out! Each person draws a number out of a hat representing the order of each selection. Number 1 is cocktails, 2 is appetizers, 3 is dinner, and 4 is dessert. (You can add or take away numbers as needed!) Then, the person with the corresponding number chooses where they want to go for that part of the meal. This is a fun way to get everyone on board with a fun night out!
